SBAC Bank PLC is proud to announce the appointment of Mr. Md. Rabiul Islam as its new Additional Managing Director, marking a significant addition to the bank’s leadership team.

Mr. Islam brings with him a wealth of experience and an impressive track record in the banking sector. Before joining SBAC Bank PLC, he served as the Managing Director (CC) at NRBC Bank PLC. His journey in banking began in 1989 as a Probationary Officer with Islami Bank Bangladesh PLC, laying the foundation for a distinguished career that spans over three decades.

Throughout his professional journey, Mr. Islam has held critical leadership positions at several prominent financial institutions, including Prime Bank PLC, Al-Arafah Islami Bank PLC, Mercantile Bank PLC, NCC Bank PLC, and NRBC Bank PLC. His roles have ranged from Head of SME Financing Division to leading major branches like Mohakhali, Gulshan, and Motijheel, as well as overseeing pivotal divisions such as CRMD, HRD, Legal & Recovery, and ICTD.

Academically, Mr. Islam is equally accomplished. He holds a B.Com (Hons.) and M.Com in Finance from the University of Dhaka. He later earned an LLB from Northern University Bangladesh and an LLM in Commercial Law from the University of Derby, UK—demonstrating his commitment to continuous learning and legal-financial expertise.

Mr. Islam has also participated in numerous local and international training programs and seminars. These include the ACU Seminar in Thailand, a Seminar on International Trade in Malaysia, and Overseas Bankers Workshops in Singapore, along with specialized training in Lending Risk Analysis and Investment Operations.
